Inspiration : DIY Beads

Its safe to say when let loose in a bead shop all of us here at Jewelry From Home go a little crazy. We always fall completely in love with all the beautiful colors and different shimmers and sparkles after a few unintentional repeat buys lately we have thought about making our own. We have been having a good look round the internet we have come across some fab tutorials that show you how to create your very own unique beads, here are our favorites.

Polymer Clay

There is such an amazing array of polymer clay colors that you really can make beads in hues to perfectly suit you. We love this tutorial from Craft Tuts Plus that shows you how to make these disc shapes.

Paper Beads

Paper beads are really simple to make and look so effective, they can be made from pages of your favorite magazines, pretty wrapping paper or any scraps you have in your craft supply box. This tutorial from Cuento Cuentas takes you through all the steps to make.

Wooden Beads

Ok so unless you whittle the wood yourself you might need cheat and buy plain wooded beads (they are readily available in most craft shops). This tutorial from Laura Parke takes you through the simple steps for customising.
Fabric Beads
These fabric beads from Henry Happened are a new adaptation of paper beads. We think the possibility for mixing textures and patterns is so exciting!
