Top Tips - On-line Jewelry Supplies

Happy Saturday everyone, it's been a crazy week here at Jewelery from Home so we're popping the kettle on and getting excited to start some weekend projects (have you looked at our DIY's?). As the weekend give us a little bit more breathing space we thought we'd share some of our favourite online resources with you for stocking up on your supplies. It's and ongoing list so please add your favourite sources in the comments section or contact us on, Twitter or Facebook sharing your favourite online shops.

If our Jewelry Making for Absolute Beginners class has got you dreaming of the jewels you can make then we recommend Beads Direct for a vast array of beads in all shapes, colors and materials - the hardest part is deciding on the colors! For findings and chain we love International Craft, their findings come in basic plated gold and silver plus Sterling Silver and 9ct gold if you are looking for something a little more special.

For the unusual and one-off try eBay, it is such a rich source of materials but can take a bit of searching so be open minded and don't be afraid to add stuff to your basket and then make an edit of what you really need. It's a great place for picking up basic finding kits, unusual beads or cabochons or cheap chain. The only warning would be is some quality is better than others, it's great for practice pieces if you are just getting started.

For all you silver clay fans (and we know there are loads of you) we stock up our supply cupboard with goodies from Metal Clay Ltd. . They stock a huge range of goodies that will get seriously inspired and your hands ready to make so if you haven't already then make sure you take a look at our Make Silver Metal Clay Charms Class to get you started.

Did you see our Make a Silver Ring featured class this week? Yes, then make sure you take a look at Cookson Gold and HWalsh for supplies . Cookson Gold has a great selection of sheet silver perfect for the Make a Silver Ring project and HWalsh has a really fab selection of tools to add to you tool kit.

We hope these sites give a starting point to create some really amazing pieces which you must share with us, we can't wait to see. If you think we are missing anything then make sure you add a link to the comments below and we will feature it in another post.
